Family: I have my two parents and a brother. My brother is also a teacher and my Dad is a DCE.

Hobbies and Interest: I love playing sports, pretty much all of them. My favorites would be Volleyball, Soccer, and Basketball. Being born in Kansas I have always been a Kansas fan (Chiefs, Royals, and Jayhawks). I also really enjoy watching movies and reading historical fiction and fantasy books.

Hobbies and Interest: I enjoy hiking, fishing, camping, bike riding, and so many more outdoor activities. In my free time, I enjoy reading books (especially novels by Nicholas Sparks) and trying new recipes. I have a big heart for animals and enjoy walking my dog in the evenings.

I get to bring real world experience into the classroom, helping students see the value and answer to their question, “Why do we need to know this?”

Job history: I retired from Lockheed Martin as a senior software engineer. I subsequently worked as an assistant research professor at the University of Mississippi for 3 years, doing research for the Navy, as well as teaching math and computer problem solving methods in the School of Business. I also taught in the School of Business at Missouri Western State University for 1.5 years.

Hobbies and Interest: I enjoy Bible Studies, scrapbooking, shopping, and collecting carousel horses.  Traveling and missions are a passion of mine.  I have been to Ecuador on missions several times, volunteer at Hillcrest Thrift Store regularly, and participate in Lutheran Women’s Missionary League events.  I also have the privilege of coaching Math competitions, sponsoring Student Council, serving as Co-president of Parent Teacher League, selling Scrip among other staff responsibilities, and getting to teach all the students at St. Paul through the various facets of my position.   The many activities of my own family and at St. Paul keep me busy and keep life interesting.  Taking on Geometry has helped me to continue to learn and grow as an educator.
